Fair raises $15,000 for school
Early showers couldn’t keep crowds away from the Magnetic Island State School Community Fair last Saturday when more than 1000 people helped raise around $15,000 for the school on the day through raffles, amusements, food and stalls.

Let the Bay Dayz begin
With 54 events in just one month the monster Magnetic Island Bay Dayz Festival, now in it’s sixth year, is set to kick off this Friday 6 September with a ‘A Portrait Of Maggie’, an exhibition by renowned painter Peter Lawson, plus the Barramundi Brothers at the Festival opening at Barefoot Gallery in Horseshoe Bay at 6.30pm. It then it continues throughout September with over 54 events to choose from!

Men's Shed takes hold of community centre
One of the great legacies of the Solar Cities project on Magnetic Island has been the restoration of the old Sport and Rec Club at Horseshoe Bay. And now, as the "Smart Lifestyle Centre" as Ergon called it, has done its job, the Magnetic Island Men's Shed group, who have been tenanting the building on a temporary basis, have taken over the reins of running the building with a ten year lease.
