PUBLIC NOTICE

Townsville City Council is working towards the next phase of its upgrade of the Picnic Bay sewerage system to reduce the potential for groundwater contamination and increase the use of recycled water for public parks and gardens on Magnetic Island.

Townsville City Council has appointed the locally based A&V Simmons Constructions Pty Ltd as the contractor for the construction of the sewer.

The project team will be hosting a briefing on Saturday, 23 October 2010, 9am at the Magnetic Island Country Club on Hurst St to discuss the scope of the project, access to properties and plans to reduce any impact on affected residents.

Council contractors will actively work to reduce construction impact on residents, properties and the community as a whole.

We value your input into this project and will work with residents to achieve the best possible result with the lowest possible impact on the community and environment.

For any queries, please call the project team on 1800 818 717 or email picnicbay@townsville.qld.gov.au.

Here we go again. Broken promises and damaged property. Why would ANYONE start building something so close to the start of the wet season? Our rates ar work!

I think the council are a disgrace. Feel for the picnic bay land owners made to pay for a service which should be part of the infrastructure. Isn't that what part of our rates are for? Whether you got the money or not or had your own plans for your savings, renovations or close business down just not getting the returns, to bad, you have to pay for the sewage connection THE Townsville COUNCIL
