It was, according to the organisers, so well received last year, that the volunteers are very keen to make it an even bigger success this year. It is the Christmas Giving Tree Appeal where you can help make less fortunate Island residents' Christmas a happier one by donating gifts to be distributed in the week before Christmas.
The Giving Tree began on Magnetic last year when Island resident, Sue Mackay involved the Island's churches in the project which was enthusiastically adopted and is now set to be repeated.
All is prepared with the receptacles for the donations in place at IGA and Foodworks at Nelly Bay plus both ferry terminals. The items will then be collected, wrapped and distributed by the churches volunteers to individuals and families in need.

Syl Hayes In reply to Fair raises $15,000 for school What a wonderful outcome for the school! I had a great time face-painting with Luke and Sasha, met lots of kids and parents, scored some great books at the Trash n Treasure stall, and even remembered to vote. Everywhere you looked people were enjoying themselves...such a tribute to the organisers. Well done!
