Marie makes "Ripples"

A brolga watercolour miniature by Marie Warneke Former Island resident and watercolour artist, Marie Warneke is back in the north with a new exhibition of "panoramic miniatures" about to open at Perc Tucker Regioanl Gallery in Townsville.

The show is titled, Ripples, which according to Marie, refers to the ever widening circles radiating from the Magnetic Island and Townsville region she loves; out and encompassing rainforest, islands and the interior.

Ripples will run from Oct 7th to Nov 1st in the Showcase at Perc Tucker Gallery

The show will be opened on Saturday 10th October at 7 p.m. in conjunction with the opening of Townsville Art Society Spring Exhibition.

Oh to be on Maggie this weekend! I have two Marie Warneke minatures purchased on the Island on my last holiday. The first is of Geoffrey Bay and the second of Edithvale Beach. Such a long way to travel to buy a lovely painting of two of my favourite beaches.

What a wonderful outcome for the school! I had a great time face-painting with Luke and Sasha, met lots of kids and parents,scored some great books at the Trash n Treasure stall, and even remembered to vote. Everywhere you looked people were enjoying themselves...such a tribute to the organisers. Well done!
