Following a very successful April Fool's story "Hot and Tasty and $20,000 richer," we've learned that lots were taken in and passed on their congratulations to Nial and Mark, our Hot n Tasty warblers.
For the record this story was an April Fool's day fabrication.
There is no Cafe of Song competition, Mr George Gambino does not (to our knowledge) exist nor for that matter does the Stan Zemaniac Bequest and sad to say the boys are not $20,000 richer.
What was true however is that the boys really are musicians and they perform in the Rocky Bay Band which is often seen at Magnetic Island Musos Club.
What also added to the story's credibility is that Fat Possums is a place where Music plays a big role and where the staff really do burst into song from time to time. It's that sort of place!
Magnetic Times is also aware that, depending on when News Club readers received the emailed alert with the April Fool's story, it may have been after the traditional cut-off time of noon on April 1. All we say is that the story was posted prior to noon and that it really pays to link back and read the whole story, not just the email alert.
If any readers have come across other April Fool's Day stories or tricks why not tell us about them in the comments box below.

Were you April Fooled?
Magnetic Community News (sorry to refer to the opposition) had several April Fools' Day stories that, I have to admit, had me running for the tranqs. The first was an idea to build a 3 story high curlew in Nelly Bay; the next a plan for a revolving restaurant on Mt Cook; then a government plan to re-name Picnic Bay "Healthy Snack Bay" and finally a JCU inspired idea to reset MI to True North. I've become so cynical about developers on the island that this article really had me going for a moment there.
Whilst I pondered the story and the date I noticed that the email was sent at 11.41am. If you had waited another 20 minutes would that have meant you were April fooled?
