Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service is looking for people who are willing to volunteer to participate in a number of projects on Magnetic Island.
QPWS is hoping to set up a couple of teams to work on projects that may interest Island residents.
Volunteering can be as little as three hours per fortnight or one or two days a week. Even an occasional couple of hours would be welcomed.
Possible projects are: * Florence Bay - weed clearing and native vegetation regeneration * Horseshoe Bay - maintenance of the Horseshoe Bay Lagoon * Nelly Bay Lagoon - re-establishment of native vegetation on the lagoon * Cockle Bay - preparation of beach stone curlew breeding habitat
Queensland Parks and Wildlife will provide all the information and training that the volunteer needs to carry out any activities. Safety gear is also provided.
Volunteers would be required to sign a QPWS Volunteer Agreement.
If you like to volunteer, or to find out more, or just to discuss with someone, contact:
