Aquapella launch CD on Saturday

Beat with some Aquapellans performing at Bay Day Fans of the Queensland winners of, ABC Classic FM's, Choir of the Year award, Aquapella, who also happen to be from Magnetic Island and Townsville, are in for a great Christmas treat this year with a dinner and show at the Magnetic Island Country (Golf) Club, this Saturday night, presented by Rotary Magnetic Island, to launch Aquapella's first CD, "Making Waves".

Choir Master Beat Lehmann told Magnetic Times, "The CD will feature 16 songs which is great value and just about every Aquapella song locals will have heard at their various performances and four more which they may not have heard will be on it."

"Nearly every song is from a different country in a different language. It is all world music. It's a musical journey and it's very diverse."

Saturday night will be a fund raiser for the Island Rotary who plan to use the money raised from the dinner and concert to help purchase medical equipment fund other community projects.

Aquapella will be following up with another big launch in Townsville at the Perc Tucker Regional Gallery on December 8 at 7.30pm.

Some tickets for the MI Country Club dinner and show which begins at 7pm are, we hear, still available and can be booked through Malcolm Waters on 4778 5715 or 0430 006 661 or malwaters@iprimus.com.au

The CD has also just gone on sale at two Island outlets: Nelly Bay Fish n Fuel and the Arcadia Newsagency and costs $25.

Syl Hayes In reply to Fair raises $15,000 for school
What a wonderful outcome for the school! I had a great time face-painting with Luke and Sasha, met lots of kids and parents, scored some great books at the Trash n Treasure stall, and even remembered to vote. Everywhere you looked people were enjoying themselves...such a tribute to the organisers. Well done!
