A young koala's beach adventure

This weekend we have had a friend staying with us from Melbourne who, before he became an airline pilot, was a teacher in East Berlin in the late 1960's. (He is an Australian)
Have just returned from dropping him off at the airport.
After the Pilots' Dispute in 1989 he joined Lufthansa in Germany.
During this time he managed to obtain both his Stasi and KGB file from the earlier period he spent there.
.The "authorities" suspected he was CIA and his "best friend" was a Stasi"plant" to report on him.!!
He reckons the situation depicted in this film is as accurate as could possibly be.
(As an aside, he met and married a lovely German girl. They had two children there before returning to Australia. They used a fellow student who was a bit short of funds to babysit their kids on occasion. Her name: Angela Merkel, the current chancellor of Germany...!!)
Incidentally he's the most unlikely CIA agent one could imagine..!!

Syl Hayes In reply to Fair raises $15,000 for school
What a wonderful outcome for the school! I had a great time face-painting with Luke and Sasha, met lots of kids and parents, scored some great books at the Trash n Treasure stall, and even remembered to vote. Everywhere you looked people were enjoying themselves...such a tribute to the organisers. Well done!
