Help pollies keep their promises

It's that time again when promises begin to fill the airwaves. But if you are skeptical about whether the latest election promise you've heard will ever be anything but just that then a new listing known as Promise Watch may be the solution.

Promise Watch is organised by (click here) who describe themselves as, "...a new independent political movement to build a progressive Australia. GetUp! brings together like-minded people who want to bring participation back into our democracy."

GetUp say, "Let's make this election a first - where a promise truly is a promise! Every time a candidate makes you a promise, whether you see it on national television, hear it at your local RSL, or find it in your letterbox - log it here!

"What's a promise worth if it's not kept?

"With Promise Watch you can ensure that every promise is a core promise and together we can hold the future Prime Minister - and every other MP and Senator - accountable. As soon as the new government is formed the clock will start ticking and together we'll make sure they deliver a progressive Australia."

To check out the promises so far or to add one you have heard visit Promise Watch (here)

Syl Hayes In reply to Fair raises $15,000 for school
What a wonderful outcome for the school! I had a great time face-painting with Luke and Sasha, met lots of kids and parents, scored some great books at the Trash n Treasure stall, and even remembered to vote. Everywhere you looked people were enjoying themselves...such a tribute to the organisers. Well done!
